Simply stated, gilding is the application of gold leaf to wood. A time-honored decorative technique that transcends design styles and periods, it is found in antiques as well as contemporary pieces, as an accent or an entire finish, as in a gilded frame.
We offer water and oil gilding for restoration, alterations, replicas and new pieces of furniture, wooden objects and framing. In addition to traditional gilding methods utilizing gold and silver leaf, we also work with metal leaf upon request. close
